Energy Champions

A multiplayer racing game in Unity with Netcode for GameObjects as the networking solution. This project was commissioned by Fusiko Aerio Attikis and executed in collaboration with Mindtrap Advertising, who handled the design aspects. The game was showcased at TIF 2023.

This demo project contains the following features/gameplay loop:

  • The player could register online to generate a QR code and scan it before starting the game to automatically update the player’s account and selection options.
  • The game can be played solo with a bot racing against the player or multiplayer meaning players versus players racing in the same track.
  • The game’s goal is to race with an electric supercar and get the best time for 2 laps and under 4 minutes and have your score in the top 10 of the leaderboard.
  • The player’s car is consuming energy while racing, if the car consumes all of its energy the player gets disqualified. The player can refill energy using the pitstop where energy chargers are located.
  • There are pickable items good and bad that affect the player’s speed, recorded time and energy consumption.
